Was the inspiring force in organizing the World Water Conference 2004 at Plachimada, against the multi-national agenda on exploitation of water resources. The conference was attended by over 40 international water warriors, 500 delegates and nearly 10,000 people. As the CMD of Mathrubhumi had on principle decided not to accept any advertisements of colas.

Organized the social boycott of palmoil. Led massive protest in Kochi in the company of former Prime Ministers Sri. V.P.Singh and Sri. Deve Gowda. This was an extension of the avowed policy of Mathrubhumi not to carry any advertising of palmoil or related products

He has been a staunch champion of freedom of the press and organised nation wide seminar on the topic this year. He was the prime mover behind the historic Mumbai Declaraion of press rights
